Immediate Needs
50% of all individuals who suffer from blindness in the Caribbean reside in Haiti, with the largest of those cases being cataracts. Low income communities have the highest risk of this pathology because they lack access to good eye care, doctors, equipment and eye clinics. 30,000+ cases are identified each year, however very little can be done. We need to raise awareness to aid in the prevention of blindness and give Haiti hope for a brighter future.
Our Solutions
CharityVision works to strengthen eye care services in the community. Together, with our partners, we regularly conduct awareness and eye screening campaigns to prevent this pathology and refractive errors for kids and adults. Our vulnerable and low income community benefit from a reduction of about 70% to 80% per cataract surgery. We facilitate funding for eye surgeries through generous donations from organizations, families and individuals who have a heart for restoring sight.

Stories from the field
Doug Jackson, CharityVision CEO, visits Haiti and gives us a tour of the new clinic. Haitians are hard working and beautiful people, and our team is very passionate about helping communities that lack in eye care services.
Our team in Haiti started this year strong by doing eye screenings with our partner, Dr. Cadet. CharityVision-Haiti reaches out to poor communities where access to eye care is very limited.

OUR TEAM
Spencer Lexy
Caribbean Director
“Working at CharityVision is not just an ordinary job for me. It is lot more than that. Mainly, it is the opportunity for me to serve my people, my country, make miracles happen and be part of something huge, a cause that is greater than me. More than co-workers we are a big family that is changing so many lives in Haiti and I love what we are and what we are doing.”
Farida Lexy
Administrative Assistant
“I am happy to support my own community while ensuring patient follow-ups, especially to those who take our work as a blessing in their lives. As the only woman in the staff, I add a special touch to our work. I am proud to work with CharityVision—an organization that fights eye diseases in Haiti, especially cataracts.

“I love that I promote CharityVision’s cause… I feel good when we can reach out to the most vulnerable areas where people are constantly suffering of eye diseases; and we sincerely serve them. My biggest joy is the happiness we bring to the community. I really love to see that we can still be happy while serving others.”
